Tubes Tied and Wanting A Baby

If the title of this sounds all too familiar you are not alone. Although many women choose to have a tubal ligation at some point in their lives many regret it.

Some women were just at a bad time in their lives maybe relationship wise. Others really thought they were done having children and that was he end.

But, as with everything else in life things change. Having your tubes tied and wanting a baby is not all that terrible. There is hope and the answer is tubal reversal.

For those that have no idea what tubal reversal is it is the procedure in which a surgeon actually repairs the fallopian tubes and puts them back together to function as they did before the tubal ligation.

So, what are the chances of getting pregnant after tubal reversal? Actually quite good and proven better than IVF. There are  factors to keep in mind when considering tubal reversal.

Your Age

- the older you are the less egg reserve you have. This may result in taking longer in conceiving and successful pregnancy.

The type of tubal ligation you had

-depending on the damage that was done during he ligation will determine the mount of healthy fallopian tube that will remain after repair.

If you are searching for more information because you have your tubes tied and want a baby please call the tubal reversal nurses for a free phone consultation at (919) 968-4656. The website also has a very active tubal reversal message board for support and friendship.

Children After Tubal Ligation

Many couples after having their families while younger opt for a tubal ligation. Tubal ligation is where the woman gets her ‘tubes tied’ so that the egg cannot get to the uterus. Different doctors perform the tubal ligation in different ways. Some cut the tubes while others clamp them. Tubal ligation is a form of birth control that is meant to be permanent.

Many circumstances in life can cause a woman or couple to change their minds about having children after having a tubal ligation. The good news is there are ways to have children again. One is by having the tubes ‘untied’ or tubal reversal surgery. Another method is in-vitro fertilization.

In the procedure where the tubal reversal surgery is performed the fallopian tubes are repaired and put back together. This surgery or procedure needed to be done in the hospital with the patient having a few days stay afterwards to recuperate. Now Dr. Gary Berger of Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center performs this tubal reversal surgery on an outpatient basis. Dr. Monteith and a wonderful caring staff of professionals join Dr. Berger.

Caring for the women and couples that are trying to have children is the most important factor at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center. This is a very emotional time for people and the staff treats it as such.

Many women travel from all over the world to have the procedure performed and the results speak for themselves.
