Tubal Reversal and Coping With Frustration

Over time the journey of tubal ligation reversal changes. There will be days where the joy is overwhelming and then there is the other end of the spectrum. There will be days when all you feel is frustration. Frustration can be felt from a number of things.

After the surgery and the healing is complete the majority of couples wants to begin trying to conceive. In most cases it has taken the couples a good amount of time to reach this point of the journey. It is now time to begin trying to have the baby they have waited so long for.

The ovulation tracking begins as well as getting the body ready for pregnancy. As the months begin to pass by without a positive pregnancy test the frustration begins to build. Thoughts begin to sprout up and they are not always positive. “What if my tubes have blocked?” is a very common question during these times.

No matter how much we try to control things it doesn’t always work. All of the ovulation kits in the world are not going to get anyone pregnant. The main thing is learning to deal with the frustration when it comes along.

Some will get pregnant immediately following surgery. Others will keep trying for years. There is not an exact time when a couple can make pregnancy happen. And for most it happens when they are able to relax a bit and deal with the frustration in a more positive manner. Often the couple takes a break from the TTC journey and this is when the magic happens.

Understanding that frustration happens in the TTC journey is the first step. Frustration happens to couples who have not even had the tubal reversal surgery and are trying to conceive. So, with this in mind it helps to understand all of this before heading into the journey. Many were able to get pregnant quickly before the tubal ligation when they were younger and now it may just take longer.

Enjoy the time you are experiencing at this point in the journey. And remember that many others have been in the same shoes you are in right at this moment in time.
