Tubal Reversal Anxiety and Dealing With Fear

Surgery is not something we normally choose to jump into and be happy about it but tubal reversal is different. For many it is the chance to have a baby after they felt all hope was gone. While for others it is relief from Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome.

For many as the surgery date gets closer tubal reversal anxiety tends to creep up. What if the surgery does not work? This is such a common question for those who are going to have the procedure. While there is no guarantee that pregnancy will take place it has better pregnancy outcomes than the alternative of IVF.

Many times women worry about the actual procedure itself. Then being a patient, the surgery the anesthesia and recovering after the fact. Tubal reversal is not what it was years ago. The leading tubal reversal center, Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center, performs the tubal reversal surgery as an outpatient procedure. Not only is this safer but also less expensive.

When anxiety takes over with impending surgery the best thing a woman can do for herself is to surround herself with others that have gone through it. There may even be other women that live close to you that have had the procedure. If not, then join the tubal reversal message board. Although there may not be face-to-face contact, just knowing that others are going through the same thing will help alleviate some of the fears.

Be sure to ask questions if they have not already been answered. When it comes to your health there is no question too minimal. Find out that the other tubal reversal patients that have gone through the procedure have to say about the experience. When researching, the more information you have the better you will have control over the anxiety level.
